Experiential learning and Emotional Intelligence
Clients ask us to create indoor and outdoor experiences that:
- create personalised emotional intelligence learning outcomes while still working with groups.
- let groups, teams and individuals experiment with new EI skills, attitudes and behaviours without commercial consequences.
- simulate (or create metaphors for) real business issues where development can be taken back into the workplace and applied.
- provide higher levels of stimulation and engagement.
- cater for differing learning styles.
- force Executive teams to develop themselves rather than talk about current business issues.
We favour experiential learning because clients are no longer passive consumers of our knowledge but become active creators of their own knowledge. This is both relevant and important because everyone’s EI is unique and creating unique/personalised learning outcomes is a key requirement of any EI programme.
Experiential learning is also one of the few development mediums that can shift attitudes to the same degree that one-to-one coaching can.
